Merchant for Android

Accept credit cards using your Android device and a payment gateway.

Payment Info ScreenMost mobile businesses have had to rely on slow, unverified forms of payment until now. Merchant for Android allows you to get instant credit card authorization without a credit card terminal or cash register. You are open for business anywhere, anytime you have your Android phone. No more worrying about whether someone just wrote you a bad check, or if their credit card is good. Transactions settle the same day, so you get paid fast.

Some of our clients are roofers, painters, diaper services, massage therapists, and vendors at trade shows, art fairs, and charity events. Some sources indicate accepting credit cards can increase sales by 400%, especially impulse buys.

Payment Gateways

If you are interested in accepting credit cards, but do not have a existing merchant account or supported payment gateway, fill our our Merchant Inquiry form or select one of the supported payment gateways below. It usually takes about a day to get setup. More details about gateways and merchant accounts are available in our FAQ.

NMI  Various    Yes Network Merchants Inc (NMI) is the provider for many "private label" gateways. They generally don't advertise themselves as NMI compatible, so if you're gateway isn't listed above, you may want to ask your account representative.

If you don't see your gateway in this list, let us know and we'll consider adding it for a future release.

Support

Please review our FAQ for answers to the most common questions. Email to info@3aspen.com

is the best way to contact us for support, and we generally answer within a few hours. If you have discovered a bug in the application, please use the Bug Report feature inside the application (on the Menu of the main screen). This will send us details about the problem and give us the information needed to find and fix the bug quickly.

Please understand that to keep the cost of the application down, it is not possible for us to provide phone support.

Coming Soon

We are excited about adding new features to Merchant. Here's what we're considering for future versions:

  • Integration with Contacts, for easier entry of customer information.
  • Recurring billing and remotely storing card information in a secure manor for repeat customers.
  • More flexible receipt generation.
  • And much more.

Let us know if there are other features you would like to see.

Support for google checkout.

Please see FAQ

As the FAQ indicates, support for Google Checkout is unlikely to be included as it would be little more than a web view.

Untrue

Posted by Nick Terry at Jan 21, 2010 07:25 AM
That is incorrect. It is true that all transactions are handled by the google servers, but all you need to do is send a specifically formatted XML payload to the correct server, the payment will be processed, and the server will return a formatted XML payload back with the results. Details are on the google checkout site.

From the Google Checkout Documentation:

Posted by David Broudy at Jan 21, 2010 07:30 AM
The closest thing they have server-to-server XML Cart, documented here: http://code.google.com/[…]/Google_Checkout_Custom_Cart_How_To_XML.html

Credit card information is not part of that XML payload, that is entered on Google's site, requiring a web view.

Note this excerpt from Step 7:

"Your application will then send the Checkout API HTTP request to Google using HTTP POST. In response, Google will return to you a Google Checkout URL that you will redirect your buyer to for completing the order."

The redirect is what would require the web view.

The gateway used but many banks including samsclub merchant services and PNC bank.

fdp

Posted by brian at Jun 20, 2009 09:42 AM
I agree, they need to add first data, who is the largest merchaant processor in the world, handling one out of every two transactioms. If fdp was supported id purchase this for more than the asking price simply so I won't have to worry if I don't have my terminal for some reason.

First Data

It's not going to make it into the next release (coming shortly), but I'll put it at the top of the list of the one following that.

Planetauthorize Payment Gateway

Posted by Dave Millington at Jul 14, 2009 12:39 PM
Add support for the Planetauthorize payment gateway. Their service is available in most countries and they support multiple currencies. You can process your Android, Internet and Retail payments using one Planetauthorize payment gateway account (e.g. you can load multiple merchant accounts). I currently use their service to process customer payment from my online store and CRM tool.

NMI Supported Gateway

Planetauthorize is a NMI Gateway, and support has just been added to Merchant for Android.

I would appreciate a try before you buy option or at least a demo showing the app and its abilities. If the cost was less there would be less of an issue I think.

Merchant Lite

Posted by David Broudy at Jan 01, 2010 11:52 AM
There is a feature limited demo version called Merchant Lite. It is limited to 2 transactions or a maximum of $100 per day. All other features are the same as Merchant Pro.

Would love to see a hardware interface to do card swipe and receipt print.

Is that going to be added?

Authorize credit card

Posted by Brian at Apr 29, 2010 12:43 PM
Instead of only being able to charge a card, add the ability to just do a credit card authorization (amount not charged). For me, that feature alone would make this program worth several times its price.

Receipts.

Posted by Rickstoyroom.com at Jul 10, 2010 08:30 PM
Anyway to get a customizable receipt? iSwipe for iPhone lets me at least email customers the receipt. I tested this and at this point I did not get a receipt.. I would love to have this feature.

Thanks!

Only by the gateway

Posted by David Broudy at Jul 10, 2010 08:33 PM
The only way to do this currently is to have the gateway send a receipt for you. I'll probably add receipts, transaction log and some other things fairly soon, but I don't have an exact timeframe yet.
